About Me
Thank you for visiting my website, I realise it’s tricky deciding who might be in the best position to help so this information here is for you. Formerly President of the British Thyroid Association, I am a Consultant Endocrinologist in private practice within several London clinics.
Prior to this I was a Consultant Physician and Honorary Senior Lecturer in Diabetes and Endocrinology at the Royal Free Hampstead and a Consultant Endocrinologist at the North Middlesex Hospital NHS Trust. I am also a published author of Thyroid Disease (The Facts)
My training in general medicine and endocrinology was completed at NHS posts in the West Midlands, North East England and North Staffordshire and included clinical responsibilities for the development of endocrinology and diabetes services.
I offer a limited number of remote appointments, for further information and availability please contact my PA Keri pa@markvanderpump.co.uk
I can offer appointments at short notice, subject to availability.

Patient Feedback
“I found your name on the internet and was so relieved to find a doctor I could see without a gp referral. For several years I had been feeling ill and tried to find a diagnosis. It was fortuitous indeed because you listened to my list of symptoms and arranged a range of tests that ultimately saved my life.
When the test results arrived you wrote a letter indicating I needed urgent attention and this undoubtedly led to a diagnosis of cancer of the caecum. After a right sided hemicolectomy there was no sign of any metastases in lymph nodes despite stage 3 cancer. I have thoroughly enjoyed the last 2 years of life and hope there will be more to come. I can’t thank you enough Mr Vanderpump, you were absolutely marvellous!”
